Information you give us

When you create an account with email, we store your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, country, city and state, and postal code. Your password is stored only as a one-way hash. We never keep the password you typed.

If you sign in with Google, Google sends us your name, email address, profile photo, and a Google account identifier. We store those so the same person keeps one account. Google does not send an address, so the site then asks for country, city and state, and postal code. Phone remains optional.

If you use Forgot password, we email a 6-digit code to the address on the account. We store only a hash of that code, and only until it expires or is used.

Profile fields you add later, such as a short bio, are stored with your account.

Information collected automatically

Signing in sets two cookies on this site, named so the browser can keep you signed in. They are httpOnly, which means page scripts cannot read them. One is a short-lived access cookie. The other is a refresh cookie sent only to the sign-in endpoints.

For each sign-in we may store the IP address and browser type with the session, so a stolen session can be revoked.

The public site is served through our host and Cloudflare. Those providers see routine connection data such as IP address as part of delivering the pages. We do not use that data to build an advertising profile.

How we use it

We use this information to create and protect your account, show the signed-in research pages you are allowed to open, send a password-reset code when you ask for one, and reply if you contact us.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for third-party advertising.

Who else receives it

Google receives the sign-in request only if you choose Continue with Google. The mailbox provider that sends reset codes receives the destination email address and the message. Our hosting provider stores the account database on the server that runs this site.

We may disclose information if the law, SEBI, or a competent authority requires it.

How long we keep it

Account details stay while the account is active. A deleted account is marked deleted and blocked from sign-in. Password-reset codes expire after a few minutes. Session records end when you log out, when the session expires, or when the password is changed.

Your choices

You can update your name, phone, address, and bio from your profile after signing in. To close an account or ask for a copy of what we hold, email [email protected].

You can disconnect this site from your Google account in your Google Account permissions. That does not by itself delete the Alphasun account already created.

You can reject non-essential cookies in your browser. Blocking the sign-in cookies means the site cannot keep you logged in.

Children

This site is for adults making their own financial decisions. We do not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 18.
