Inducement
A minor high or low that tempts early entries before price reaches the larger liquidity pool.

Definition
Inducement, in SMC teaching, is a small, tempting swing that forms just before the real pool. Equal highs sit above. Before price reaches them, it makes a minor high that looks like a short setup. Traders who short that minor high provide the orders, and the fuel, for the push into the real highs. The idea is a warning about being the early trade. The minor structure is bait relative to the obvious external liquidity. You do not have to believe anyone designed the bait. You only have to notice that small swings inside a range are worse locations than the range extreme when your target is the other side.
How it works
Map the external pool first, the obvious high or low of the range. Then look at the minor swing that just formed in front of it. If your entry triggers at the minor swing, and the external pool is still untouched just beyond your stop, you have placed the stop where the sweep of the real pool will likely go. That is the practical test. An entry whose stop sits inside untouched obvious liquidity is an entry into the inducement. Wait for the external pool to be taken, or place the stop beyond it and accept the larger risk, which may make the trade too small to bother with.
How traders use it
Use the term as a filter on your own impatience. When you want to fade a small double top just under the weekly high, the weekly high is the pool and the double top is the inducement. Either wait for the weekly high to be swept and reclaimed, or do not fade. The same logic applies under a major low. Inducement does not give you a separate entry signal. It tells you which of two highs is the one that matters.
Common mistakes
Labeling every pullback an inducement so that you never take a continuation trade. In a trend, the minor high is often the breakout, and waiting for a mythical external sweep means missing the trend. Also marking inducement after your stop was hit, as the explanation. Mark the larger pool first or the word is hindsight.
Limitations
Inducement depends on a hierarchy of swings that you chose. Change the timeframe and the "minor" high is the major one. Without a written timeframe pair, the concept always has a larger pool you failed to respect. It also does not say what to do if the larger pool is never reached. Ranges can reverse from the middle. A filter that can veto every trade is not a filter. It is a reason to freeze.
