RHP
The Red Herring Prospectus, the offer document used during book building, after SEBI's observations and before the price is fixed.
Formula
It includes the price band, the offer period, and updated financials and disclosures. The final prospectus after allotment records the price that was discovered.
What it means
The RHP is the document investors are actually offered. Differences from the DRHP are the point of comparing the two: what changed after the regulator and the update.
Book building collects bids inside the band. The discovered price becomes the issue price.
How to read it
Anchor-investor details, the promoter contribution, and the lock-in are in the offer documents. They tell you who is already committed and who can sell later.
What to watch
Marketing presentations can be rosier than the RHP. When they conflict, the RHP is the filed statement.
This note explains the term. It is not a research recommendation, a target price, or a comment on any security. Ratios and regulatory thresholds change; use the latest filing or circular for a live figure.
