Technical Indicators – Momentum Indicators
Oscillators that compare recent gains and losses, or the speed of the price change. 15 topics.
Relative Strength Index (RSI)
A 0 to 100 oscillator of the size of recent up closes versus recent down closes.
Stochastic Oscillator
Where the close sits inside the recent high-low range, scaled from 0 to 100.
Stochastic RSI
A stochastic oscillator applied to RSI values instead of price.
Commodity Channel Index (CCI)
How far typical price is from its average, scaled by the mean deviation.
Williams %R
Where the close sits in the recent range, scaled from 0 at the high to -100 at the low.
Rate of Change (ROC)
The percentage change in price over N bars.
Momentum Indicator
The raw difference between the close and the close N bars ago.
Relative Vigor Index (RVI)
A bounded oscillator that compares the close-to-open move with the high-to-low range.
True Strength Index (TSI)
A double-smoothed momentum oscillator, scaled by double-smoothed absolute momentum.
Awesome Oscillator
The difference between a 5-period and a 34-period simple average of the bar's midpoint.
Accelerator Oscillator
The awesome oscillator minus its own 5-period average, a measure of whether momentum is speeding up.
Money Flow Index (MFI)
An RSI-style oscillator that weights typical price by volume.
Ultimate Oscillator
A weighted blend of buying pressure over three lengths, so one timeframe does not dominate.
Chande Momentum Oscillator (CMO)
A -100 to +100 oscillator of up-sum versus down-sum over a window, without Wilder smoothing.
